In September, 2022, I was privileged to be one of several who hosted a vintage tea party in in the Sweep/Van Dyke Hotel in Plankinton, South Dakota. We set the event in the 1910-1912 time frame and chose tea and treats that used ingredients available to women in this prairie town at that time.

Prior to this event, we collected vintage table setting items that belonged to women with an historical connection to Aurora County. One unique aspect of this tea program is that every cup and saucer can be traced to a specific woman who had at one time lived in the county. We all enjoyed a marvelous afternoon!
