More of the Plankinton Experience

Our weekend "Cottage" and writing retreat.

Our weekend “Cottage” and writing retreat.

Adding to our Plankinton experience, we are leasing an apartment on the third floor of the Plankinton building for 12 months. We leased the space to explore downtown Milwaukee on weekends, provide a writing retreat for me during the week, and “practice” living in a downtown condo. Still spend most of our time at our house in the country.

Love the fact that we can walk everywhere in downtown. Really enjoy the dining/drinking establishments on the river (one block away) and plan to enjoy more theater this fall. Public transportation stops right out front – taking the bus is a good way to avoid the parking mess on campus. And we get free membership to the YWCA – located on the fourth floor.

The building is on the corner of Plankinton Avenue and Wisconsin Avenues, and the apartments are all new. Our apartment is on the third floor of the front of the building facing Wisconsin Avenue. The statue of John Plankinton stands in the first floor rotunda in the Grand Avenue Mall, which occupies the first two floors.
